Linolen Kabalican has always looked forward to bright future with the career path he is choosing. Being in CITE allowed him to use his leadership abilities to the fullest in every student club he is in. His grades are in top shape and he is making an impressive mark with his glibness and diligence.
But life just gets better for this 20-year old guy and two other scholars of the Rotary Club of Cebu when the Rotary Club of Yotsukaido (Japan) formally inked a memorandum of agreement (MOA) with CITE on February 4 to grant them a perpetual scholarship.
The MOA signing was made possible by CITE Trustee Jose Soberano who brought the Japanese Rotarians to visit the school and meet their scholars personally. CITE Business Manager Roy Zapata was on hand to welcome the visitors. Mr. Zapata also gave a short presentation about the school.
Roy Lotzof, president of Rotary Club of Cebu, expressed his gratitude towards the visiting group, for its continuous support in their community outreach projects. The gesture was welcomed by Katsumi Murayama, president of Rotary Club of Yotsukaido, who was delighted to see that the collective efforts put up by the rotary have paid off well to benefit more students in the future.
Towards the end of the activity, the Japanese visitors surprised the audience when they signified another perpetual scholarship grant on the spot to aid more young people get a better deal in life.
The MOA signing was also attended by Allan Patrimonio, H. Narushima, K. Hora, Kenyo Matsumoto, Yasuo Naito, Katsumi Yamamoto, Masanao Sato, Saneiki Tanaka, Motohisa Hikchi, Manuel de Veyra, Ohga Kinuyo, Manuel G. Boniao, Felix H. Borromeo, and Shigejiro Ouda.
