Seminar Series Prepares the Students
February 12, 2012

EFCOM students will soon be ready for the toughest job interviews in the companies. The newfound skills were a result of a seminar series conducted to them by call center agents, a trainer, and an owner of an employment services agency.

The seminar series was part of the ESL 3 (English as a Second Language) requirements. The students were asked to host a seminar of topics related to job hunting. 1E-EM students invited Kate Tancio of Convergys to speak about telephone etiquette and job interviews and Karen Dejano of People Support to talk about EFCOM as it comes into play in the job interview. Both seminars took place on February 3.

In the afternoon, Anthony John Balledos, of Employment Resource Services gave surefire techniques in answering job interviews, writing a killer resume, and public speaking when faced with panel interviewers. With his long years of experience in the employment arena, Mr. Balledos inspired the students in attendance to gain confidence and to be prepared always for job interviews. 1B-EM hosted the event.

On February 9, a cross between EFCOM and leadership seminar was hosted by 1A- EM with youth leader Ninia Jayme at the helm. Ms. Jayme gave a very dynamic presentation of job interview tips punctuated mostly with icebreakers. She finished off with a talk on adership, her forte, and sent the students off with a realization that they are leaders in the making.
