CITE runners have always challenged themselves by beating their records be it in a fun run or marathon competitions.
Stories on their mileage just flew thick and fast during lunch breaks when they report back for work.
A non-runner like me could not help but be amused at the energy these people have put up for a competitive sport such as this.
Anyway, they did it again last January 8 during the 3rd Cebu City Marathon, an opening salvo for Sinulog celebrations.
Despite the presence of foreign bets and a growing number of participants from all walks of life, CITE runners and instructors including Romero Enoc, Jun Mercado, Jorge Larobis, Jundryl Oplado, Dennis Barlas, Johnrell Estiva, Neil Ryan Laspinas, and many others, joined over 7000 runners who beat the clock in the quest to finish 42K.
Among the highlights were the fireworks display before the race, tons of sports drinks, cool water showers from fire trucks, and volunteers who kept the race safe and exciting.
