Feeding Program in Progress
January 23, 2012

Focal persons and school principals of the beneficiary schools turned up last January 18 to meet with the feeding program coordinators at CITE.

The meeting was a feedback mechanism of CITE to heed some concerns and draw out reports of the ongoing feeding programs in 15 elementary schools.

Teachers presented the status reports in powerpoint presentation  packed with photos and statistics.

Among the highlights were the dramatic increase of attendance in the school because of the regular supplementary feeding. Severely wasted pupils were also found out to have increased their weight  and academic performance because of the program.

In some schools, parents were also involved in preparing the food during the activity and Parents and Teachers Associations were tapped for additional funds to keep the program up and  working.

Before the activity ended, some additional boxes of CPG products were handed to them to continue the feeding program. A.D. Gothong Manufacturing Corporation also sponsored the cooking margarine and oil.

The feeding program was sponsored by Century Pacific Group – RSPo Foundation, Inc., the socio-civic arm of Century Pacific Group, makers of quality products such as Century Tuna, Wow Ulam, 555 Sardines, Argentina corned beef, among others. CPG tapped CITE to provide nourishment to the severely wasted children in the community and schools where there is a  dire need to address the nutrition problems.
