Everyone is invited. On February 14-15, a grand celebration awaits the students, alumni, and guests as CITE celebrates its 22nd Foundation Day Anniversary.
There will be fun run to jumpstart the commemorative activities. CITE has in store some interschool competitions such as Speechfest for oratorical and declamation tilts. A battle of the bands will also be staged to pave way for homegrown talents.
The annual quiz bowl, catequiz and interdepartmental speech competitions were also in the pipeline to challenge academically excellent students.
For technical students, a strident skills olympics will be held to single out the best in their technology through a series of practical and theoretical tests.
Although sketchy as of press time, the calendar of activities shall be filled to the brim with the usual activities such as exhibits, song and dance competition, invitational basketball game, and fund-raising activities.
CITE was founded on February 14, 1990. Twenty-two years after, it has become a beacon of hope for students who could not afford a college education, an inspiration to the society who has turned a blind eye on the importance of tech-voc education as the economic engine of our country, and a haven for those who have less yet were given hope that they can be the best in what they do and can contribute to the society.
The founder of Opus Dei, St. Josemaria Escriva, whom we drew in inspiration in setting up the school said, “...we shall not attain our goal if we do not strive to finish our work well; if we do not sustain the efforts we put in where we began our work with human and supernatural zeal; if we do not carry our work as well as the best we do, and if possible even better than the best...”
Despite the setbacks in terms of its shortage of funds, CITE has continually been passionate in its mission to give the best even in its most ordinary way. Congratulations to the movers and shakers of CITE!
