A New Breed of Mentors
December 23, 2011

A new breed of mentors has come out of age. They’re younger, more vibrant, and most importantly all ready to take the chat challenge.

The latest additions to the growing family of mentors were drawn from the Technician Training Program students, alumni, and the new employees who have shown their commitment to make a difference in the lives of the students. After the December 17 seminar on mentoring, they are surely equipped with the tools to continue the legacy.

The mentoring program is a support system of CITE which aims to develop the students to become morally upright, professionally competent, socially responsible, and well-rounded individuals through  professionalized and personal mentoring chats. It is the unique brand of CITE which has stayed on despite the many changes in the curriculum in the past years.

Director for Formation, Dr. Jun Langahin, is on the lookout to make the mentoring chats more efficient and worthwhile. With his expertise and dedication, he has conducted a series of monthly mentoring seminars for the senior mentors to keep them abreast with the latest trend in personal and professional development. Anchored on the philosophy of friendship and respect, the mentoring chat draws a mentor and mentee closer to each other to help the latter attain the fullness of his being while in his teens.

Anticipating a burst a bigger number of student population in January, the reinforcement is right on the dot to answer the growing need for competent and dedicated mentors.
