A new breed of class officers were trained to be leaders during the two-day leadership seminar- workshop on January 28- 29 at OK Corral, Busay.
CITE Business Manager Engr. Roy Zapata gave the first talk which tackled the influence, responsibility, and goals in relation to being a leader. “Nothing great can be accomplished without passion,” he said as he encouraged the first year class officers to be bold with the challenges they will face as officers.
“Being a leader is not easy but always likeable,” said Industry Coordinating Officer Mr. Marlon Valencia as he opened his talk on the types of leadership. Afterwards, Student Affairs Officer, Mr. Dennis Barlas discussed the Officer’s Administrative Activities and Functions. He said that officers should exercise their authority to discipline their class as they are the “eyes and ears of the adviser”
At the end of the first day, the group watched the film “Braveheart”, a story of a 13th century Scottish warrior who gained recognition when he came to the forefront of the First War of Scottish Independence by opposing King Edward I of England .
On the next day, the group braved the slope of Mt. Kan-irag and enjoyed the view from the top. It was also a good time to share their experiences of the seminar they just had.
