GROWING AS A CATECHIST

One of the most important responsibilities of a catechist is to help the students recognize that we are meant to live our faith in our daily lives. Teaching them to obey their parents, help their friends, and say their prayers will help bring the meaning of teachings to life. Teachings like the Ten Commandments or Corporal Works of Mercy can just become futile if not seen within the context. And these can be well taught to the kids while they are still young.

Every Sunday, we give basic catechism to the kids in the urban area in San Jose. We teach prayers, tell Bible stories, and talk to them personally about Jesus. Children enjoy it most when they are in group activities or learning new action songs.

Want to make a difference in the lives of the children? Join us. Be a catechist.
