About Us

Message from the Executive Director

Twenty one years have passed since the foundation day of CITE on February 14, 1990. This institution has experienced both highs and lows in its desire to be of service to the less privileged youth and to the industry. We have garnered awards and recognition and pursued trailblazing projects with various organizations. The dream that started in 1987 with the visit to Cebu of Bishop Alvaro del Portillo, first prelate of Opus Dei, has slowly become a reality with the invaluable assistance and support of industry, government, organizations, generous individuals, and  parents of our students. Of course, we should not forget the dedication of the faculty and staff to pursuing the CITE education that integrates technical training with human formation which inculcates proper attitudes towards work, as well as towards one's family, society and life itself.

We have committed to continue striving for excellence in all our endeavors despite the chronic shortage of funds for our operations which tend to limit the quantity but not the quality of our graduates.

I would like to share with  you some words from Dr. Jose Rivera, SEASFI (Southeast Asia Science Foundation Inc.) Chairman which could serve as an inspiration for all of us: “We acknowledge that the funding of your operations is not going to be easy, and that many challenges lie ahead. But this has always been so, particularly at the beginnings. You must have faith in your mission, and inspire optimism and confidence in the people working with you, because you are not engaged in this venture because of personal interests or ambitions, but because of your ideal of service. And that ideal will prevail. The project will be a success, even though you will be spared difficulties. After some years, you will see CITE fully-developed and wonder how that was possible.”
